The Accounting Manager partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities.
They are intimately familiar with DRI’s business model, pricing model, chart of accounts, and operations.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
_Accounting Administration:_
· Manages general contract and invoice review from outside vendors and partners.
· Posts bank and credit card transactions to the proper general ledger accounts and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
· Assists President, Treasurer and Finance Committee with the budgeting process including the creation of annual budget templates, and assisting with the P&L forecast models.
· Works with the Treasurer to ensure the general ledger accounts are the proper accounts for producing the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement in accordance with their needs for analysis.
_Expense Management:_
· Maintains the annual conference budget and conducts the conference statistics for use by management who oversees and runs the conference
· Reconciles all conference revenues and expenses at the end of each conference and allocates the expenses to the general ledger.
· Works with the conference managers to build an annual conference budget with actual conference cost and revenue analysis.
Helps set conference prices to ensure the desired financial outcome of the conference.
_Invoicing and Accounts Receivables:_
· Works with each Department to ensure they have the proper credentials to create invoices and trains them on how to create and send invoices properly.
· Runs routinely scheduled AR reports for each department and assists with collections in collaboration with the Directors.
_Accounts Payable:_
· Run AP reports on a regular schedule and recommend vendor payments to pay each week
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, and Qualifications*
· Possesses a thorough knowledge of Management Accounting best practices and GAAP Accounting rules.
Thorough understanding of accrual vs cash accounting.
· Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with others on the team.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Has demonstrated leadership potential.
· 3+ years of professional experience.
· Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
*Physical Requirements*
· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
· Prolonged periods of looking at computer screens and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 5-15 pounds at times.
· Some travel may be required (less than 25%)
