Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance (F98137 ) Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance (F98137 ) at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties): The Department of Finance at Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a tenure-track Assistant/Associate faculty position for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
Teach 2/2 undergraduate/graduate courses in the Finance department.
Manage assessment and Student progress with a Learning Management System (Canvas).
Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies.
Instruct students in a classroom, online, and/or hybrid setting.
Provide adequate service to the college, university, and academic discipline.
Publish in top-tier journals in Finance.
Actively participate in the Finance doctoral program.
Qualifications: PhD in Finance or a related field (completed before August 2024) is required.
Some previous teaching experience is desirable.
Preferred qualifications: Some previous teaching experience.
The candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research and publish in leading finance journals.
In addition, the candidate is expected to commit to excellence in the classroom and teach the latest concepts and tools used in the field.
For example, quantitative and computational finance, Big Data, Data analytics, artificial intelligence, implementation of deep learning methods using machine learning packages, and coding in Python or R.
Finally, the successful candidate is expected to engage in significant service activities and collaborate effectively with diverse groups of colleagues and students.
This search is part of a cluster of hires across departments focusing on hiring faculty that will make the business school more technologically oriented and improve the marketability of our students.
