Our work environment includes: * Modern office setting * Food provided _Position Overview:_ _As a CDL B Program Career Counselor at Detroit Training Center, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting individuals through our CDL B Program.
This program is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue successful careers in the commercial driving industry.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workforce development and a passion for helping individuals achieve their career goals.
_ _Responsibilities:_ * _Career Counseling: Provide one-on-one counseling to participants in the CDL B Program, assessing their career goals and developing personalized plans for success.
_ * _Program Guidance: Assist participants in navigating the CDL B Program, ensuring they understand the curriculum, requirements, and expectations.
_ * _Job Placement Support: Collaborate with employers and industry partners to identify job opportunities for program graduates.
Facilitate connections between participants and potential employers.
_ * _Resume Building and Interview Preparation: Conduct workshops and training sessions to help participants create effective resumes and prepare for job interviews.
_ * _Retention and Follow-Up: Monitor the progress of program participants, offering ongoing support and guidance to ensure successful program completion and career placement.
_ * _Data Management: Maintain accurate records of participant progress, outcomes, and employer partnerships.
Generate reports as needed to track program success.
_ _Qualifications:_ * _Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in workforce development or career counseling, with a focus on programs related to commercial driving.
_ * _Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with participants, employers, and colleagues.
_ * _Knowledge of Commercial Driving: Familiarity with the commercial driving industry and CDL B licensing requirements is highly desirable.
_ * _Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
_ * _Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team to achieve common goals.
_ _Education:_ _Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered.
