*JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:*
As a driver working for RKA you will specialize in transporting petroleum products.
Your duties in this career revolve around driving a tanker truck to deliver gas or oil.
Your responsibilities will include carrying gas to assigned locations and pumping it from your tanker into a reserve tank.
You may also be responsible for making sure that your truck and any pumping equipment are in working order and operating safely.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
· Works with Transportation Specialist to ensure schedules allow for on-time deliveries and superior customer service performance by delivering the correct products and quantities.
· Is responsible for following the safety programs including HAZMAT certifications.
Must attend regular safety meetings.
· Load fuels as instructed at designed truck rack using fuel arms and hoses that require lifting requirements of 75 pounds without assistance.
· Communicates effectively verbally and in writing to customers and other employees.
· Performs truck safety inspections, verification of product lading, and preparation of operational and DOT forms and records.
· Make delivery of bulk petroleum products to customer sites in compliance with state and federal regulations and all Company operational and safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain truck and delivery logs in compliance with state and federal regulations; conduct required pre-and post-trip inspections.
· Communicate customer needs and inquiries to appropriate departments for follow-up.
· Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
*SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:*
· Must have CDL – Class A or Class B
· Must have HazMat and Tanker Endorsement
· Must be 21 years old.
· 1+ year(s) successful driving experience preferred.
· Ability to lift heavy objects, hoses and items weighing 75 lbs.
· Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission transport vehicles in various road conditions throughout Michigan and surrounding states.
