Now Hiring at the Boll Family YMCA YMCA Employee Benefits • FREE Family Membership & Discounted Access to Programs • Flexible Scheduling & Family-friendly Work Environment • Employee Assistance Program & Retirement Plan General Function The GSRP Associate Teacher will be responsible for planning and executing a program of activities alongside the GSRP Lead Teacher that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of preschool children.
Education/Experience/Training/Certifications • Must have an Associate’s Degree in child development/related field or current CDA credential with 120 hours of continuing education credits (CEU’s) in a child related field • Experience working in urban environment is preferred, not required • 3 years of experience as a successful associate teacher in a GSRP or Head Start setting • Successfully pass a criminal background and unprofessional conduct check • Tuberculosis Test, Physical Test, Standard First Aid Certification, and Adult/Child/Infant CPR Certification obtained within the first 30 days of hire as well as have a Blood-Borne Pathogens and DHS Clearance Position Benefits • Paid Time Off and 10 Paid Holidays • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D Insurance • Short-term/Long-term Disability and Flexible Spending Account Job Duties & Responsibilities • Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and is developmentally appropriate for preschool children • Collaborates with school personnel, parents, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum • Evaluates students’ abilities and achievement for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of learning disorders, developing remediation plans, and/or evaluating student progress • Furthers personal education via staff development, college courses, etc.
for the purpose of staying current with the latest and best practices, and learning new theories and technology • Monitors student progress for the purpose of providing student feedback on a regular basis to students, teachers, and parents, and determining interventions for those students who are diagnosed as “at risk” • Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor Abilities & Skills • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position such as sitting and standing from a seated position on the floor to supervise program activities.
• Ability to participate in all physical indoor and outdoor activities in program areas year round.
