*Community Education Coordinator*
*Full Job Description:*
*General Summary:* Provide professional training and education relative to prescription drug misuse (PDM) and the proper use of naloxone (Narcan) overdose reversal medication.
Engage in community distribution of take-home naloxone and Deterra medication disposal pouches.
Key Responsibilities:
*Educational Sessions & Trainings:*
● Host trainings and educational sessions weekly.
● Oversee reporting and documentation for educational sessions and trainings.
● Assist with development of educational materials and presentations.
● Coordinate with community partners on training logistics, including set-up times, locations, and required supplies.
*Community Events*:
● Engage with community members at educational tabling events.
● Foster relationships with community groups, coalitions, churches, etc.
, to promote FAN programs.
*Distribution*:
● Distribute naloxone kits and Deterra bags following training within the community.
● Document individuals trained and number of naloxone kits and Deterra bags distributed.
● Work with creative director and social media team to develop educational materials for distribution.
*Workgroups*:
● Communicate and engage with community stakeholders to grow and maintain workgroups.
● Create and distribute meeting notes for stakeholder workgroup meetings.
*General Duties:*
● Collaborate closely with FAN administrators.
● Represent the organization professionally and uphold the brand's reputation.
● Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
● Required Certifications, Registration or Licensure: N/A
● Minimum Knowledge and Education: A Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
● Minimum Work Experience: 2 years combined work and volunteer experience in a community education and training program.
● Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
● MUST be comfortable with public speaking, especially in front of large audiences.
● MUST be able to work nights and weekends.
● Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, proof of insurance, and clear background checks.
● Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs.

● Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and department safety programs.
*Reporting Relationships:* Reports to the Director of Community Education.
*Travel & Reimbursement:* Reimbursement of mileage at the current standard mileage rates.
*Physical Requirements*: Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
