Job Summary: The Central Sterile Processing Instructor will assist and instruct students under the supervision of the Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA) Program Coordinator.
This position involves teaching, advising students, interviewing potential students and utilization, and instruction of the Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA) Central Sterile Processing curriculum.
Instructors must serve as academic advisors and participate in recruitment, registration, and retention activities for students in programs within the department, including referring students who are at risk of failure due to absences for advising or counseling.
Instructors are required to monitor students' progress in courses and provide timely feedback to aid academic success.
Job Duties: · Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
· Exhibit professional integrity which reflect the MHA Code of Conduct · Show an uncompromising commitment to quality customer service and student learning through MHA’s mission, vision, values, and the delivery of instruction.
· Deal effectively, tactfully, and cooperatively with all students, faculty and guests of Michigan Healthcare Academy and our affiliated partners.
* Responsible for the creation and revision of weekly lesson plans.
* Responsible for comprehensive course instruction within specific program areas.
· Maintain accurate and appropriate program and course work, logs, student records, and expense tracking sheets.
· Correct and return graded assignments within 48 hours to students.
· Maintain current Central Sterile Processing certificates.
· Keep current with information related to the topics you are instructing on.
* Attempt to build professional relationships with healthcare facilities so as to promote and place recent graduates in Sterile Processing Technician jobs.
* Ensure that safe practices are utilized by students and staff.
· Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator.
*Required Qualifications* * 5+ years of Sterile Processing Technician experience.
* Sterile Processing Technician certificate (CRCST or CSPDT credential) obtained from either National Certification Board CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
Physical Requirements: · Able to see, hear, speak, read, and write (with or without accommodation).
· Able to reach and bend.
· Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Classes are Tuedsay and Thursday from 9am - 12pm Job Type: Part-time Pay: Up to $28.
