POSITION DESCRIPTION
Working as a team with school, parents, and the community to provide a complete, developmental counseling program focusing on academic, career, and personal/social development; coordinating and managing special programs and projects focused on college and career opportunities; developing plans and/or providing information regarding students' goals; ensuring completion of students' applications within designated time frame; and creating an atmosphere to meet student needs through prevention, identification, and intervention.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Michigan secondary level teaching certificate
NT endorsement or equivalent required
Significant experience and/or coursework in related fields
Related academic endorsements preferred
Other Qualifications and Attributes:
Ability to motivate and academically challenge children
Effective communication skills at all levels
Ability to differentiate instruction
Ability to implement and instruct established Grosse Pointe Curriculum
Appropriate technology background to integrate with instruction
Provide mental health and social/emotional support

Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout school and classroom.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.

Prolonged periods sitting and working on the computer to complete necessary paperwork.
