AP Biology – Permanent or Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and innovative AP Biology teacher to teach three or four sections of Biology for the remainder of the 2023-24 academic year, and possibly join the permanent Upper School faculty.
The successful candidate works collaboratively with other teachers, is intrinsically motivated to see the familiar in new ways and has a passion for work in the classroom and the laboratory.
Salary is based upon experience.
This full-time member of the Upper School faculty teaches three or four sections of Biology and contributes to a large extracurricular program such as Athletics, Debate, or Robotics to name a few options.
Additionally, it is understood that the successful candidate has a demonstrated commitment to work in an extraordinarily diverse and inclusive community, and the potential to participate in an enriching residential program.
Collaboration within a dynamic Science department, creation of powerful learning experiences for a globally diverse student body, commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents through interpersonal relationships, utilization of extensive campus resources, setting a positive tone, and treating students as individuals within the context of a broader community, are all critical components of this position.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
Enthusiasm for teaching and working with adolescents and excellent communication skills are expected of all teachers.
