POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track professor.
This Psychology department faculty will teach a standard faculty load per academic year in the graduate and undergraduate programs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Doctorate in Psychology or related field
Experience in leadership and mentorship in an academic setting
Full licensure in Clinical mental health techniques in an applied setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop course materials in the area of clinical psychology and demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership
Play an active role in the ongoing development of the program by working alongside the Chair of the department in program assessment and curricular development activities
Stay up to date with current developments in the field by reviewing journals, abstracts, and psychology, social work, and neuroscience literature
Participate in RU and Psychology & Behavioral Sciences committee work.
Attend designated University events, such as chapel, convocation, graduation, and other community-building activities
Report accurate grades, attendance, and feedback to students
Serve as academic adviser for students
Hold a minimum of five (5) office hours per week
Perform other duties as assigned

Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor students as they develop skills in the clinical and therapeutic management of mental health
Demonstrates excellence in:
Teaching and higher education practices
Applied clinical psychology
Willingness to or demonstrated abilities to develop creative and innovative solutions in the classroom as well as in applied settings
Knowledge and skill in teaching diverse learners, and ability to use current technology
Good oral/written communication skills
Ability to demonstrate consideration of others, and to deal effectively and fairly with a variety of individuals in a courteous manner
Ability to manage time independently and to collaborate with campus partners
Ability to develop engaging classroom activities, communicate expectations with markers of student success, and monitor students’ progress
Ability to clearly and effectively present ideas and compose/deliver presentations
Ability to keep up-to-date on departmental and college policies, procedures, and practices in order to provide accurate information or assistance to students, staff, and faculty in a timely manner
Ability to effectively plan work activities, schedules
Ability to assess student learning of both institutional and program-level outcomes.
