The principal is an instructional and operational leadership position within the school building.

Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church and School is located in Beverly Hills, MI and currently serves 340 students, pre-K- 8.
The mission of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School is to nurture students who contribute to the world through faith, character, and lifelong learning.
This is very much lived out by our entire school community.
The faculty is a highly dedicated, motivated group who are extremely focused in preserving and advancing the school’s standard of excellence.
Our school implements Project-Based Learning preschool-8th grade, an initiative we are looking for the leader to learn, support and continue to cultivate.
In addition to our traditional middle school core classes, our middle school students engage in advisory and elective courses weekly to build strong relationships within the school building and explore their personal gifts and talents.
The principal should value these structures and have the willingness to learn, support, implement and improve these initiatives alongside the faculty and staff.
Finally, we have a focus on continuously improving our early elementary reading program aligned to the research behind the Science of Reading.
The principal should understand or be willing to learn and lead the coaching and development of the teachers around early literacy strategies that the research supports.
Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School community develops and nurtures the love of Jesus Christ through authentic faith experiences, which empowers our students to courageously live and share the Gospel by living their lives with respect, self-disciple, and compassion from others.
We implement the Virtues Program through the Archdiocese of Detroit and explicitly teach a monthly virtue school-wide.
As a school, we recognize students who live out these virtues in their daily lives.
The principal is the leader of a Catholic community of faculty, staff, volunteers, parents, students, and parish members.
The principal is the close collaborator of the pastor.
Skills Required:
Strong commitment to the Catholic faith, and to the importance of Catholic school ministry in the Church.
Ability to integrate the Catholic faith across all aspects of education and school culture
Master’s Degree with a minimum of 20 graduate hours in supervision, curriculum, instruction, and other related educational administration courses.
Experience in educational leadership
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, parents, and the Archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools
Ability and desire to build strong relationships with staff, students, and families
Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of or strong desire to learn about Project Based Learning
Five years’ experience in teaching or administration in a Catholic School, preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership to the school community
Ensure the Catholic identity and mission of the school are upheld and advanced
Collaborate with the pastor, faculty, staff, and parents to create a positive and supportive school culture
Oversee the academic program and ensure that it meets the needs of all students
Manage the school budget and resources effectively; interacting periodically with the parish finance council.
Recruit, hire, coach, and evaluate faculty and staff
Ensure compliance with all Archdiocesan and state regulations
Communicate regularly with parents and stakeholders about school events and initiatives
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices
