The Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences at Wayne State University seeks a biostatistician for a non-tenure track research position to enhance our clinical, research and teaching missions.
The Department has been nationally ranked in the top 20 departments for NIH funding in each of the past five years and houses MetroNet, a practice-based research network.
In addition, the Department is home to multiple educational and training programs, including a CEPH-accredited MPH program and three ACGME-accredited residency programs.
Applicants must have a PhD in Biostatistics or a closely related field and have at least three years of experience as a biostatistician in a medical/public health setting.
Additionally, applicants must have experience teaching biostatistics at the undergraduate or graduate school level understanding its application in public and population health.
Other teaching responsibilities include participation in biostatistics curriculum development in public health and medical education.
Research responsibilities will include participating in ongoing funded research projects with departmental and medical school faculty.
These responsibilities will include statistical analysis and interpretation of data for projects and research grants, performing protocol reviews, statistical report generation and manuscript preparation.
Interdisciplinary scholarship is also valued.
Departmental faculty collaborate with researchers with multiple other departments and centers across the Wayne State campus, including the NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center (Karmanos Cancer Institute), the NIEHS-funded Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors, the NIMHD-funded Center for Multiple Chronic Diseases, and health professional training programs (Nursing, Pharmacy, Social work).

Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) relevant to health equity and disparities research.
If MD degree but have Michigan Medical License.
Rank commensurate with credentials.
Evidence of scholarly productivity (i.

, external grant support and scholarly publications).
Ability to provide quality instruction to a variety of students.
Experience in faculty mentorship.
Academic accomplishments commensurate with appointment to Associate or Full Professor.
