Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Third Grade Teacher to join our school in Detroit, Michigan.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, a deep understanding of the unique needs of third-grade students, and a passion for fostering their academic and personal growth.
As a Third Grade Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, implementing the curriculum, and creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.
Responsibilities:
1.
Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the Michigan State Standards and district curriculum for third grade.
2.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for learning.
3.
Teach core subjects, including English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other required subjects.
4.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
5.
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
6.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate different subject areas.
7.
Differentiate instruction to support students with varying abilities, including English language learners and students with special needs.
8.
Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through hands-on activities, discussions, and projects.
9.
Promote effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive and respectful learning environment.
10.
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support student success.
11.
Use data-driven instruction to analyze student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
12.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on current educational practices and standards.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
A teaching certification or licensure is required in the state of Michigan.
2.
Experience teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably in third grade or similar grade levels.
3.
Deep knowledge of the Michigan State Standards and curriculum expectations for third grade.
4.
Understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for engaging and motivating students.
5.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
6.
Ability to differentiate instruction and provide appropriate support or enrichment to meet the diverse needs of students.
7.
Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction to enhance learning experiences.
8.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to plan and deliver effective lessons and assessments.
9.
Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children and supporting their social-emotional development.
10.
Familiarity with data-driven instruction and assessment practices to inform instructional decision-making.
11.
Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices to create an inclusive and equitable classroom environment.
12.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture.
