Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Assoc Dir, UG Admissions & Diversity Initiatives at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties): Job Purpose The Associate Director, Admissions and Diversity Initiatives plans, develops, and implements strategies for undergraduate student recruitment and yield.
In addition to serving on the leadership team, the Associate Director will be accountable for leading select strategic enrollment priorities and will leverage data to make informed decisions on strategies for recruitment, admission, and yielding of prospective students and to enhance and streamline admissions processes in support of prioritizing the student experience.
The Associate Director, Admissions and Diversity Initiatives will partner with colleagues across the university and with campus student experience professionals to develop recruitment efforts, pipeline programs and activities to enhance enrollment and create a sense of belonging for non-traditional and diverse students.
Essential Functions Leadership and Management of Admissions Counselors and Student Assistants Provide leadership and direction to the undergraduate admissions team, including admissions counselors, recruiters, and support staff.
Supervise and mentor admissions staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide professional development opportunities Lead diversity and inclusion recruitment initiatives Promote and support diversity and inclusion initiatives for recruitment and enrollment within the admissions department, ensuring equitable access to higher education for all students.
Lead Detroit Recruitment Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy for the Detroit metropolitan area to attract and enroll a diverse pool of prospective students.
Build and maintain strong relationships with high schools, community colleges, community organizations, and educational partners in the Detroit area.
Represent the institution at college fairs, high school visits, and community events in Detroit.
Lead Regional Recruitment Oversee regional recruitment efforts beyond Detroit, identifying target regions and developing outreach plans.
Collaborate with admissions staff to execute regional recruitment activities, including travel to targeted regions, as necessary.
Monitor and analyze regional recruitment data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven improvements.
Admissions Strategy and Planning Collaborate with the Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions to develop and execute the overall admissions strategy and enrollment plan.
Use data and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the admissions landscape.
Communication and Outreach Develop and maintain effective communication strategies to engage prospective students, parents, and high school counselors.
Coordinate marketing and communication efforts related to Detroit and regional recruitment.
Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance with all relevant admissions policies, regulations, and accreditation standards.
Prepare regular reports on recruitment efforts, outcomes, and key performance indicators.
Budget Management Manage the budget allocated to Detroit and regional recruitment efforts, ensuring efficient and responsible allocation of resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Unique duties: Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree Bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree in education administration or a related field is preferred.
Experience Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience) 5 years of experience in undergraduate admissions, with a demonstrated track record of leadership and success in recruitment efforts and developing diversity recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Data-driven decision-making skills and proficiency in using admissions software and data analytics tools.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Willingness to travel as needed for recruitment events and initiatives.
