Position: Education AIDE
Status: Hourly/ Non-Exempt
General Description:
Under general supervision of the Program Director, provides services to assigned Agency students in the Jill Ennis Educational Center.
This position will serve to help keep the students focused on their education and follow the daily schedule.
This position will assist the student to accomplish their educational goals.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Program Supervisor.
Qualifications (required at time of offer):
High school diploma or GED with some college credits.
Prior experience working with delinquent youth, at risk youth with problems in the juvenile justice or child welfare systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer and technology skills to monitor the tethers.
Reliable transportation.
Prior experience with Microsoft Office and related applications or other IBM-compatible word processing program.
Satisfaction of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
Responsibilities (illustrative and not intended as inclusive; specific responsibilities may vary):
Provides timely services to all assigned students and maintains positive relationship with students and other team members.
Ensures accurate, professional, and timely entry in JAIS of all required reports, logs, case notes, filings and other paperwork as required by Agency program-specific procedures, the applicable program contract terms, and the Wayne County policy on Standards of Promptness.
Maintains a positive learning environment and ensures that the daily schedule is followed.
Helps students with lessons and provides verbal de-escalation to students.
Ensures accurate, professional, and timely attendance at all meetings, trainings, groups, case conferences, client sessions and general supervision.
Ensures that the classroom is organized and cleaned before and after school each day.
