Title of the position: Teacher (Grades 1st – 5th) Organization: Our Lady Star of the Sea (PreK-8) Type: Full-Time - Salaried General Description: We are growing! The teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment.
The teacher is immediately responsible to the Principal for the carrying out of policies of the school and the Archdiocese of Detroit as they relate to the function of the school, the classroom, and the immediate contact with students and parents.
Education/Experience Requirements (include but not limited to): Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university minimum Michigan Teacher’s Certification An understanding of the Catholic Faith and the ability to witness to it personally and professionally ZA endorsement preferred K-2 Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification) Successful teaching experience preferred Effectively communicate with students, parents, school staff, and others in a calm and respectful manner at all times General Duties: Classroom Management Classroom Organization and Instructional Proficiency Professional Attitude and Performance Professional Interaction Professional Growth All candidates must be able to pass background checks and understand and abide by the Archdiocese of Detroit contract for employment and the specifications it contains regarding the expectations of a Catholic school employee.
