General Information/Duties:
Plan, deliver, and assess instruction consistent with district curriculum
Provide a variety of learning methods and resources to engage students in educational activities and lessons
Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments
Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community
Be a team player; working with other members to improve techniques, relations with the community, and school environment
Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology.
Participate in district-wide professional development
Perform other duties consistent within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate - Math Endorsement
Demonstrated skills in the use of technology
Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of students is required.
Additional Qualifications:
Skilled with documenting services provided to students
Ability to balance a caseloads and meet deadlines for paperwork requirements
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to effectively interact with students with a wide variety of behavioral, emotional and socio-economic needs in addition to academic needs
Key Areas of Responsibility
Prepare for each class (Annual plan, Unit plans, a syllabus, plan lessons, correct papers, conversations with parents & students)
Submit weekly Lesson Plans
Prepare and Lead Parent Teacher Conferences (3 times a year)
Attend all Faculty Meetings
Develop and Execute a Classroom Management Strategy – maintain discipline & a positive atmosphere in the classroom
Learn and utilize the on-line grading system
