Must have successful classroom experience with literacy instruction and assessment.

Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive professionals with a growth mindset REPORTS TO: Director of Elementary Instruction SUPERVISES: All Students JOB GOAL: To support incoming grades 2-5 elementary students with literacy and math skills needed to successfully transition into their next grade.
The Summer Scholars Program is an instructional school-based program targeting literacy and math intervention for students entering Grades 2-5, with identified needs in literacy and math.
Students will be engaged in comprehensive and meaningful literacy and math instruction using evidence based practices to address their individual needs.
The goal of the Summer Scholars Program is to strengthen literacy and math achievement for students entering grades 2-5.
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide effective instructional methods based on a daily schedule outlined in training Administer pre and post assessments Submit attendance records Plan appropriate instruction to support diverse student needs Plans and prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
* Leads face-to-face student class sessions.
* Participates in literacy and math training.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved, and the physical limitations of the location provided.
* Diagnoses student and class educational needs.
* Plans instructional goals, objectives, and methods and cooperates with other members of the staff in achieving these aims.
* Develops, organizes and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
* Establishes and maintains standards of classroom behavior, as approved by FPS Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
* Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board of Education policy.
* Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes during and outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so.
* Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all students.
* Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned.
* TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: One 6-week session: June 17th -August 1st Teachers will work from 8:30 to 11:30 am (24 days) for instructional time with 30 minutes of supervision before and 30 minutes of supervision after, 1 hour planning time per day.
Contracted through MISD or Fraser June 17th-August 1st – (Mon-Thurs, 4 days/week) – Week of July 1-4 off 8:00 am-12:00 pm Teachers will attend a training session – (Registration information will be given at a later date, teachers will choose one literacy training date and one math training date) Literacy Training Dates (Choose One) Saturday, June 8 – 8:30am-3:00 pm Tuesday June 11th- 8:30am-3:00 pm Thursday June 13th – 8:30am-3:00 pm Math Training Dates (Choose One) TBD one day set-up(4 hours) $45.
00/hour paid by the FPS SALARY: $45.
