This position provides services to claimants, employers, and the general public in accordance with the Michigan Employment Security (MES) Act, and established methods and procedures in our walk-in locations.
Established methods and procedures are available in the form of laws, regulations, rules, and policies governing the work performed.
The position may require contact center activities, web, chat, or teleworking interactions with customers.
There is a possibility of a remote/hybrid schedule based on performance and operational need.
However, all work must be performed in Michigan.
If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.
Position Description EXAMPLE OF DUTIES EducationCompletion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits).
ExperienceUnemployment Insurance Examiner 8No specific type or amount is required.
Unemployment Insurance Examiner 9Two years of experience equivalent to an Unemployment Claims Interviewer 8 or one year equivalent to an Unemployment Insurance Examiner 8.
Unemployment Insurance Examiner E10 Two years of experience equivalent to an Unemployment Claims Interviewer 9 or one year equivalent to an Unemployment Insurance Examiner 9, Unemployment Claims Examiner 9, or Unemployment Claims Interviewer E10.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Salary for this position is entirely federally funded.
Under federal law an employee whose salary is entirely federally funded may not be a candidate for public office in a partisan election.

Applicants who possess a degree from a foreign college or university must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.
