Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated understanding of student needs, ability and desire to work with special needs students.
Assist student(s) with personal needs, including but not limited to hygiene, diapering, toileting and clothing.
Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
Ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management or instructional programs.
Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
May need good physical flexibility such as ability to run, walk, lift and/or respond to student physical needs.
Willingness to be trained in area(s) of student health related awareness and intervention.
Willingness to accept assignment at multiple and potentially differing sites and locations depending on individual student needs as determined by the District.
Ability to work with blood testing, insulin, ports, suctioning, diastat, medication dispensing, G-Tube feed, etc.
Willingness to be assigned as general help during "down-periods".
Maintain various records and file, parent contact may be required.
Characteristics sought include: Child-centered, adaptability, calm demeanor, respect for dignity, patience, confidentiality and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
Wheelchair assistance may be required.

Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs.
